PANAMA: A SKYSCRAPER CITY

Panama is the only country representing Latin America and Central America in the highest skyscraper in the world. Some of the skyscrapers of Panama are on the list of the 200 highest buildings in the world. The city is covered with buildings that boast modernity and innovation, as if there was a competition among architects of who performs the tower with the most enterprising architectural design.

Since 2000 the construction of skyscrapers in Panama increased, with buildings exceeding 250 meters. Most of the skyscrapers are located in areas facing the Ocean Pacific, such as Ave. Balboa, Costa del Este and Punta Pacifica. Located by the sea, the Panama City has completely transformed its international image, strengthening itself as a city for business.

Tourists are surprised by the urban growth that in a few years has developed. The tallest building is now the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel and Tower, built in the heart of Punta Pacifica in 2011 with 284 height meters and 70 floors. Another important skyscraper is the Towerbank Financial Center with a 255 height meters designed for offices, and built in a very important financial sector in the 50th Street, in Panama City. Another building that is an icon in Panama is the F & F Tower (known as “the screw”) with 242 height meters and its shape is an innovation for construction in Panama and Latin America.

The city became the most important business center in Central America, thanks to the impressive economic growth of Panama in the last decade. Panama City is a cosmopolitan venue where every corner shows the progress that the city enjoys, and represents the solid reputation that has reached this Central American country as an international business center.
